My hundreth post... It will be much more but number of 100 always gives me excitement. In this post, I wanted to share some of my blog secrets by answering some questions such as how did I get here, what did I think, how did I choose this name. Because, I am also receiving so many questions about them so I hope I can illuminate you. First of all, my life intention is to be inspiration, make positive changes in people's lives, make them have new ideas. So, I decided to share my thoughts, topics that I love and choose and moments which I enjoyed with the world.
The idea of organizing a blog came to my mind first in the summer of 2010. I was working in social media agency so I was aware of pretty much what is going on in social media and also my co-workers were insisting about this issue. At the same time, I wanted to work in a magazine and to write about fashion so much. It could be really good platform for me so I downloaded a blog, put the name, made its design and wrote my first post. It was so easy but something was wrong, I didn't satisfy so I closed it without sharing with anyone. Then, I started work in a magazine, I did good job, I think that satisfied me and I forgot about writing a blog. Even, I was thinking that writing a blog is ridiculous. After a while, I realized that I should do something alone, I should have be the boss, I should have share all my joys and experiences. So, it would be an arena where sets me free. For example, sometimes I don't like things being done for fashion as in magazines and I am think if I were them, I would have done it in other way. I wasn't satisfied just with thinking however I haven't realized yet that I could do it by writing a blog. I was always in search of something then my co-worker told me that she opened a blog, I looked at hers, really liked it so I discovered another blogs and in the end my perspective is totally changed. In the mean time, my America journey is added up and I talked with myself; ok I will start to write my blog, I will share my discoveries with people and I should create a smile on their faces.
Then, I began to think about the name, Caramélisée came to my mind when I was falling asleep. Many people think that it is because of my hair color but it has deeper meaning actually. I can't tell that it is irrelevant with my hair but I always love caramel; its color, taste and think that it makes people happy. Caramelize is the processed caramel so caramel is the things that I like and caramelizing them means sharing those things with my perspective. It is coming from French and it is 'feminin' word with the added 'e'.
Then, I made my design in colors of caramel and began to write. I received many positive critics. First of all, everyone said that my posts are so sincere. That was one of my first intentions, that means I could put a smile on people's lives who read my blog. At first, only my close friends and my Facebook friends were looking, then thanks to sites that I ve been member (Chicisimo, Bloglovin', Fashiolista, Polyvore), I could reach to people that I dont know, I adressed them and received from them many mails with critics and asking for my opinion. Recent times, my rubber boots were topic in very unique blog. All of them really make me happy and give me enthusiasm. That's why I am writing and taking photos all the time so that I can show and inspire you more and more every day. It is so good that can't be explained with words. Yüzüncü yayınım... Daha niceleri olacak ama 100 sayısı beni hep heyecanlandırmıştır. Ben de bu yayınımda bugüne kadar nasıl geldim, neler yaptım, neler düşündüm, bu adı nasıl seçtim gibi sorulara cevap verip blogumla ilgili bazı sırlar vermeye karar verdim çünkü bu konularda çok soru alıyorum, umarım sizi aydınlatabilirim. Her şeyden önce hayattaki amacım insanlara ilham kaynağı olabilmekti, hayatlarında ufak da olsa bir değişiklik yaratabilmek, yeni fikirler edindirmek. Hayatımda ilgilendiğim ve araştırdığım konuları, kendi seçtiklerimi, hayatta bana zevk veren anları dünyayla paylaşmak istedim.
Blog açma fikri aklıma ilk olarak 2010 yazında geldi. O sırada bir sosyal medya ajansında çalışıyordum, dolayısıyla bu konuları bayağı öğrendim ve iş arkadaşlarım da bayağı ısrarcı olmuşlardı. Aynı zamanda da bir dergide çalışmak, modayla ilgili yazılar yazmak çok istiyordum. Benim için gerçekten iyi bir platform olabilirdi, o yüzden ben de bir blog açtım, adını koydum, tasarımını yaptım ve ilk yazımı yazdım. Her şey çok kolay olmuştu ama kendimi iyi hissetmedim, içime hiç sinmedi, tatmin olamadım, kimseyle paylaşmadım bile ve kapattım. Sonra bir dergide çalışmaya başladım, güzel işler çıkardım, herhalde bu beni tatmin etti ve blog işini unuttum gitti. Hatta bir ara blog yazmanın saçma olduğunu bile düşünüyordum. Aradan çok zaman geçtikten sonra hayatımda kendi başıma bir şeyler yapmak istediğimi fark ettim, kendimin patronu olacağı, kendi zevklerimi ve deneyimlerimi paylaşacağım kendim için tamamen özgür bir platform yaratmak istedim. Mesela, modayla ilgili yapılan işlerde beğenmediğim taraflar oluyordu, hep ben olsam böyle yapardım diye düşünüyordum. Sadece düşünmekle tatmin olmadığımı fark ettim ama blog açarak bir yere varabileceğimi fark etmemiştim daha. Hep arayıştaydım sonra işten bir arkadaşım blog açtığını söyledi, bloguna baktım, çok beğendim, daha sonra başka bloglar keşfettim ve bakış açım tamamen değişti. Bu sırada da Amerika'ya gidişim belli oldu ve tamam dedim bir blog açmalıyım ve insanlarla keşfettiklerimi paylaşmalıyım ve yüzlerinde bir gülümseme yaratmalıyım.
Sonra başladım ad düşünmeye, bir gece tam uykuya dalacakken bir anda Caramélisée adı aklıma geldi. Birçok insan bu ismin saç rengimden dolayı olduğunu düşünüyor. Saç rengimle alakasız olduğunu söyleyemeyiz, beni yansıtan bir özellik ama aynı zamanda karameli çok sevmişimdir; rengini, tadını ve insanları mutlu ettiğini düşünmüşümdür. Karamelize de karamelin işleme uğramış hali bu da demek oluyor ki karamel benim burada konu aldıklarım, sevdiklerim oluyor ve bunları size kendi perspektifimden anlatıyorum, böylece karamel, benim bakış açımla karamelize oluyor. Bu terim Fransızca'dan geliyor ve sonundaki 'e' de 'feminin' bir kelime olduğunu gösteriyor.
Sonra karamel renklerinde bir blog tasarımı yaptım ve yazmaya başladım. Arkadaşlarımdan hem olumlu hem de yapıcı eleştiriler aldım. Her şeyden önce herkes çok içten yazdığımı söyledi. Bu benim amaçladığım en önemli unsurlardan biriydi, demek ki bir gülümseme yaratabiliyordum insanlarda. En başta yakın çevrem ve Facebook'tan arkadaşlarım bakmaya başladı, sonra üye olduğum siteler (Chicisimo, Bloglovin', Fashiolista, Polyvore) sayesinde tanımadığım insanlara ulaşabildim, onlara hitap ettim, yine onlardan da mail yoluyla çok güzel eleştiriler aldım, istekler aldım, birçok konuda fikirlerimi sordular. Son zamanlarda iyi bir blog'a konu oldum. Bütün bunlar beni çok mutlu ediyor ve her geçen gün bana şevk veriyor. O yüzden yazdıkça yazıyorum, fotoğraf çektikçe çekiyorum ki sizlere kendi gözümden daha çok şey göstereyim, daha çok ilham vereyim. Başardığımı görmek de kelimelerle anlatamayacak kadar güzel bir his. Bu 4 aylık süreçte de hiç desteğini çekmeyen çevremdeki herkese çok teşekkür ederim.
