6 Months in U.S 1

I can't believe I spent a term in U.S, I become so happy when I look at photos. I want to remember these days. Of course, that is not all but I want to remember this much for now :)

Bazen Amerika'da bir dönem geçirdiğime inanamıyorum, fotolara bakınca mutlu oluyorum. Hem kendime hem sizlere hatırlatmak istedim. Tabii hepsi bu değil ama şimdilik bu kadarını hatırlayalım :)

Remembering Old Days in U.S

It is already 8th of June. I can't believe that the half of 2012 has passed. I remember flying to San Diego right after the New Year. It has been a great adventure for me and my dearest friends, we had so much fun, what a great experience. I suggest all of you to go for this incredible journey, living abroad for a while. You will be amazed by changes that will occur in you and in your life. Actually, if you want to listen my story, my life got better. I am in Istanbul now and I don't want to go back to San Diego but my experiences out there have helped me to understand my life's worth better. I put this photo because it reminded me the one week that I lived in Los Angeles and that day we had such a good time in Santa Monica with girls and then I ate delicious dinner in one of the good restaurants of LA with my cousin. These places were in my dreams and they became the reality. This fact forces me to make realize more of my dreams and move on with my future on the way that I desire. Time is passing so fast, so it is time to show our full potential in life, this is what makes us and the life better.

If you think that I am so exaggerating, I don't have an answer for you :)

Çoktan Haziranın 8'i oldu bile. 2012 yılının yarısının geçtiğine inanmıyorum. Daha yılbaşının ertesinde San Diego'ya uçuşumu hatırlıyorum. Bu macera benim ve canım arkadaşlarım için mükemmel oldu, nasıl da eğlendik, ne kadar güzel bir deneyim. Yurt dışında bir süre yaşamayı herkese tavsiye edebilirm, eminim hayatınızda ve kendinizdeki değişikliklere hayran kalacaksınız. Eğer benim hikayemi dinlemek isterseniz, hayatımın çok daha güzelleştiğini hissediyorum. Şu anda İstanbul'dayım ve San Diego'ya geri dönmek istemem ama oradaki deneyimlerim hayatımın değerini çok daha iyi anlamamı sağladı. Bu fotoğrafı koydum çünkü bana Los Angeles'ta yaşadığım o bir haftayı hatırlattı, o gün arkadaşlarımla Santa Monica'da çok eğlenceli vakit geçirmiştik daha sonra da kuzenimle lezzetli bir akşam yemeği. Buraları görmek hayallerimdeydi ve gerçek oldu. Ve bu gerçek beni daha fazla hayalimi gerçekleştirebileceğimi ve hayatımı istediğim yönde yaşayabileceğimi gösterdi. Zaman çok hızlı geçiyor ve artık tüm potansiyelimizi gösterme zamanı, kendimizi ve hayatı daha iyi kılan bütün potansiyelimizi gösterebildiğimiz bir dünyadır.

Eğer içinizden amma da edebiyat yaptı, iyi ki bir gezmiş oraları, amma da abarttı diye geçiriyorsanız; size bir cevabım yok :)

Last Day in San Diego

I am writing today's post in the excitement of being at home safely. I am feeling so different since I am back. It was the first time that I was so far from my home such a very long time. We were pretty occupied in our last day in San Diego. First, we visited the popular outlet Las Americas, then Coronado Island (I loved the place so I had to be there again), and kissing statue which is one of the symbol of San Diego. You will see how romantic it is, now.  


Sağ salim eve dönmemin heyecanı içinde yazıyorum size bugünkü yayınımı. Evime döndüğüm için çok farklı bir heyecan yaşıyorum. İlk defa bu kadar uzun zaman evimden uzakta kaldım, dolayısıyla bütün bunlar benim için bir ilk. San Diego'daki son günümüzü çok dolu geçirdik. Önce oranın ünlü outlet'i Las Americas'a gittik, oradan tekrar Coronado adasına (tadı damağımda kalmıştı, gitmesem olmazdı), en son da San Diego'nun simgesi öpüşen heykeli görmeye gittik. Ne kadar romantik olduğunu göreceksiniz şimdiki resimlerde.

Last Photos from San Diego State University

Now, we are waiting for our airplane in San Diego International Airport. We are here with 5 friends and I have 3 luggages with me waiting for check-in. When we are leaving, we took some photos in good places of our university. We had such good memories here and we felt sad but on the other hand we can't wait to see our friends and family. I am feeling like hours are passing so slowly.  
I have many nice photos in the next post, don't miss it. See you in Istanbul!


Şu an San Diego International Havalanı'nda İstanbul'a dönmek için uçağımızı bekliyoruz, yanımda 5 arkadaşım elimde 3 bavul, check-in saati bekliyoruz. Okulumuzdan ayrılırken, üniversitenin güzel yerlerinde resimler çektik. 4 aydır burada çok güzel anılarımız oldu, ayrılırken biraz hüzünlendik tabii ki ama bir yandan da hepimiz ailemizi, arkadaşlarımızı çok özledik, dönmek için sabırsızlanıyoruz, saatler çok yavaş geçiyor sanki.

Coronado Island, San Diego

 

Welcome to heaven, here is Coronado Island! All semester, we tried to visit here and finally we did, but I think it is the first and single regret in San Diego is that I haven't been here before. I had really fun (you will see in video), moreover you will see Hotel del Coronado where is incredible hotel from 1888 like piece of art, I am planning to live my retirement here :) 

Did you like my turquoise shirt, it suited perfect with the island concept ?

By the way, I am leaving San Diego on Sunday and I will be at home (Turkey) by Monday. Today, we are moving to a hotel for 3 days because we can't stay in dorms anymore. I should confess that I can't wait to go back, I am so excited to see my family, my boyfriend and my lovely friends... Wait for me :)

Cennete hoşgeldiniz, burası Coronado Adası! Tüm dönem boyunca buraya gelmeye çalıştık ve sonunda gitmeyi başardık ve korkarım San Diego'daki ilk ve tek pişmanlığım buraya daha önce gelmemiş olmam olacak. Gerçekten çok eğlendim (zaten videoda göreceksiniz). Hotel Del Coronado 1888'den kalma sanat eseri gibi harika bir otel, emekliliğimi burada yaşamayı düşünüyorum :)

Bu arada pazar günü San Diego'dan uçağa binip evime geri dönüyorum. Bugün 3 günlüğüne otelde kalmaya gidiyoruz, çünkü yurtta daha fazla kalamıyoruz, herkes ayrılmak zorunda, biraz üzücü. Ama itiraf etmeliyim ki eve dönemke için sabırsızlanıyorum, ailemi, erkek arkadaşımı ve arkadaşlarımı göreceğim için çok heyecanlıyım... Bekleyin, geliyorum :)

Ocean Beach and La Mesa, San Diego

I have told you that we went to Ocean Beach after Point Loma. Since the weather is so cold and we arrived late, we couldn't go to beach side but vintage stores and hamburger that we ate was great. You know that I am a big fan of vintage, I think it is so charming that they possess a story and smell history. You can enjoy here with its stores and pubs in a comfortable atmosphere.
Last sunday I have been to La Mesa looking like here, so I want to share its photos, too. 



Size Point Loma'dan sonra Ocean Beach'e gittiğimizi söylemiştim. Hava çok soğuk olduğu için ve geç geldiğimiz için sahile inememiş olsak ta, gezdiğimiz dükkanlar ve yediğimiz hamburger çok güzeldi. Dükkanlar vintage kıyafet ve takı satıyor, biliyorsunuz çok severim, her birinin bir hikaye barındırması ve tarih kokması bence çok cezbedici. Burası biraz salaş, vintage dükkanların ve pubların olduğu keyifli bir yer.
Geçen pazar yine buraya benzeyen, ufak bir kasaba tadında La Mesa adında bir yere gitmiştim, oranın resimlerini de paylaşmak istiyorum.

Point Loma, San Diego

Point Loma is one of the touristic and historical places of San Diego, there is Lighthouse and Cabrillo National Monument here. I haven't seen a lighthouse so close like this before, there is also a museum about lighthouses. I always think about them as very mysterious, it can be because of some movies and also my computer game called Lighthouse which was really creepy and difficult. Further, the weather was hazy and litlle bit dark. I enjoyed the place very much, we have been to Ocean Beach then, I will post it soon. Did you like it? 

Point Loma San Diego'nun turistik ve tarihi yerlerinden biri, burada Lighthouse ve Cabrillo National Monument var. Hiç bu kadar yakından bir deniz feneri görüp içini gezmemiştim, deniz fenerleri hakkında bilgilendiren bir müze de vardı. Lighthouse olayı bana her zaman gizemli gelmiştir, hem filmlerde öyle konu edilir hem de küçükken bir bilgisayar oyunum vardı, adı 'Lighthouse'du ve çok zor ve korkunçtu, belki oradan gelen bir his de olabilir. Ayrıca, günün puslu ve karanlık olması da bunu perçinlemiş oldu. Ben çok keyif aldım, oradan Ocean Beach'e gittik, oranın fotoğraflarını da yayınlayacağım. Sizce nasıl, beğendiniz mi?

My Scarf for Point Loma, San Diego

I have told you that I am leaving San Diego in 1 week, we have still much to discover. I will post photos of Point Loma, Cabrillo National Monument and Lighthouse soon but now it is time for what did I choose to wear for this little trip? Actıally, I had a simple outfit with leather shorts, knitwear and the most comfortable Birkenstock sandals but I made it more attractive and colorful with one huge scarf. My scarf is from H&M, so, here are the photos, enjoy!

Size San Diego'da 1 haftam kaldığından bahsetmiştim, ama hala keşfedecek çok yerimiz var, yakında Point Loma, Cabrillo National Monument and Lighthouse'un fotoğraflarını koyacağım. Ama şimdi bu küçük gezimiz için ne giydiğimden bahsetmek istiyorum. Aslında, deri şort, triko ve çok rahat Birkenstock sandaletlerimle normal bir kıyafet içindeyim ama kıyafeti bir büyük şalla daha çekici ve renkli hala getirdim. Art in San Diego

Neon Skirt in Art Walk

Last saturday, we went to Artwalk in Little Italy that I mentioned before. Artists were presenting their arts such as photos, paints, sculpture, what comes to your mind. There were usual pieces as well as very different ones. You will see just art in my tomorrows post...

I had chosen my neon skirt and green top, completed with my bracelets and necklace. By the way, you can see my brand new combine of bracelets, it will be like this for a while, I loved it. Did you ?

Geçen cumartesi size kısaca bahsettiğim gibi Little Italy'de Artwalk'a gittik, gördüğünüz çadırlarda çeşitli yerlerden gelen artistler sanatlarını sergiliyorlar, resim, fotoğraf, heykel, aklınıza ne gelirse. Çok klasik eserler de vardı, çok değişikleri de vardı. Yarın ki yayınımda sadece sanat göreceksiniz...

Bu renkli gün için neon eteğimi ve yeşil trikomu seçtim, aynı şekilde bileziklerim ve kolyemle tamamladım. Bu arada gördüğünüz bilezik kombinim yeni, bir süre böyle gidecek belli oldu, ben çok sevdim. Siz beğendiniz mi ?

So 70's in Lake Murray, San Diego

My dear followers, I know you missed me and my posts. This week I was so busy with my finals and projects. I am going back to Istanbul in 2 weeks, it is really surprising how the time has passed. But, it is certain that this adventure has been turning point in my life. People who ask me about my life here, I am telling that I am ready to go home. I miss my family and friends and also Istanbul so much. I already have many plans in Istanbul and I can't wait to share them with you. Ok, I am done with Istanbul right now and passing to how I am spending my last weeks in San Diego. I haven't done with my finals yet but I am trying to discover more about San Diego. I don't know why I am like leaving everything to last minute, I have decided to go everywhere. What can I do, I am like that. I bet my parents are laughing so much while they are reading this, they are always making fun of me because of this perfect feature of mine. But I think it is the problem of our age, what do you say about it?


Today, we went to Lake Murray and El Cajon and finished our day in Little Italy with perfect Italian coffee. To tell the truth, there was nothing much in these places but seeing new places just makes me happy. My friend told me that my dress is like in 70's and she is totally right. This dress was a present years ago but I am still wearing it in summer. By the way, I know you expect photos from Artwalk San Diego but I couldn't take them from my friends camera yet, I will post them in the next one, photos are amazing. We continue our discoveries tomorrow with Coranado Island. Keep following!




İzleyicilerim, biliyorum beni ve yazılarımı özlediniz. Bu hafta sınav ve projelerime yoğunlaştım, burada finallerimiz başladı bile. 2 hafta sonra İstanbul'a dönüyorum, burada zamanım nasıl geçti, haftalar nası geçti gerçekten şaşıp kalıyorum. Ama bu macera hayatım için bir dönüm noktası oldu, orası kesin. Artık soran herkese eve dönmeye hazır olduğumu söylüyorum çünkü yakınlarımı çok özlemenin yanı sıra, İstanbul'u da çok özledim. Şimdiden İstanbul için bir sürü program hazırladım, sizinle paylaşmak için de sabırsızlanıyorum. Ama artık İstanbul'dan konuşmayı kesiyorum ve San Diego'daki son zamanlarımı nasıl geçiriyorum, ona geçiyorum. Ders ve sınav faslını tam olarak atlatmadım ama boş bulduğum zamanlarımda burayı daha çok keşfetmeye geçtim. Niye böyleyim bilmiyorum, her şeyi yine son zamana bırakıyorum, 2 haftam kaldı ya her yeri gezeceğim, ama ne yapıyım böyle biriyim işte, eminim ailem de bunu okurken çok gülmüştür, hep benle dalga geçerler, 'yumurta kapı sistemi' diye, ama sanırım bu çağımızın hastalığı, ne dersiniz?


Bugün Lake Murray ve El Cajon'a gittik ve günü Little Italy'de enfes İtalyan kahvesiyle bitirdik. Çok açıkça söylemek gerekirse, ilk gittiğimiz iki yerde de çok ilginç şeyler yoktu ama yeni yerler görmek beni çok mutlu ediyor. Elbiseme gelince arkadaşım 70'lerden gelmiş gibi olduğumu söyledi ve haklı da. Bu elbise bana yıllar önce hediye gelmişti ama yazları çok severek giyiyorum hala. Bu arada San Diego Artwalk ile ilgili fotoğrafları da beklediğinizi biliyorum ama o resimleri arkadaşımın makinesiyle çektiğimizden bir türlü alamadım, bir sonraki yayınımda onları koyacağım, fotolar süper. Hızlı keşiflerimize yarın Coronado adasıyla devam ediyoruz. Takipte kalın!

Surpriseee !

I woke up in the morning and when I was going to buy some breakfast, my two lovely friends Beril and Sera  prepared surprise for me with post-it's, I loved it, that was a total surprise. Then, we went to Cheesecake Factory and ate awesome cakes. Even on Tuesday night the place was full, so we decided to eat our cakes outside but the taste is so gooodd...

On monday night we went to a club called Shouthouse where plays live music, it was really fun, I even went to stage, it was really cozy atmosphere...

Before Spring break, we had an amazing time with my friends thanks to my birthday, today I will rest a little bit and then get ready for my Los Angeles trip !!! I am going to LA for one week, great posts will be waiting for uuu...

Sabah kalktım, kahvaltı almaya inerken bir baktım çok sevdiğim iki arkadaşım Beril ve Sera bana post-it'lerle sürpriz hazırlamışlar, bayıldım, bana tam bir sürpriz oldu... Sonra da Cheesecake Factory'nin muhteşem cheesecakelerinden yedik. Salı akşamı bile o kadar doluydu ki, biz de pastalarımızı dışarıda yedik ama tadı o kadar muhteşem ki tarif edilemez...

Ondan önceki akşam da Shouthouse diye bir bara gittik, canlı müzik olan bir yer, çok samimi ve sıcak bir ortamdı, çok eğlendim, sahneye bile çıktımm...

Spring break öncesi arkadaşlarımla doğumgünü vesilesiyle çok güzel vakit geçirdik, artık bugün biraz dinleneceğim sonra da Los Angeles için hazırlık zamanıı !!! 1 hafta LA'de kalacağım, çok güzel fotoğraf ve yazılar sizleri bekliyor...

Turkish Coffee Hour

Every friday different country serves their own food in coffee hours. We had prepared a lot for this day, our college Bahcesehir University provided us many means and as a result we did a good job. At the same time, since we really miss Turkish food, it had been a feast for us. Our guests were really glad thanks to kebabs, borek, baklava and Turkish coffees. Of course we shouldn't forget our fortune tellers. Also, some of our guests wanted to be exchange student to our university for next semester which is very excited for us, you can get in contact with me for that...


What I did wear? My skirt and nail polish were stars, don't you think? :)




Her hafta cuma günü farklı bir ülke kendilerine özgü yemekleri servis ediyorlar. Biz de bugün için çok hazırlandık, okulumuz Bahçeşehir Üniversitesi bize birçok imkan sağladı ve sonucunda çok güzel bir iş ortaya çıkardık. Aynı zamanda burada Türk yemeklerine hasret kaldığımız için bizim için de bir ziyafet oldu. Kebaplar, kısırlar, börekler, baklavalar ve etrafta gezen Türk kahveleri konuklarımızı çok memnun etti. Tabii bir de falcılarımızı unutmayalım. Aynı zamanda bazı öğrenci konuklarımız da gelecek yıl için üniversitemizde değişim programına katılmak istediklerini söylediler, bu da bizi çok heyecanlandırdı. İyi iş çıkardık!

La Jolla

This weekend had been really great, we went to La Jolla in San Diego on saturday. It is one of the nice places here, I really liked here. You will be convinced when you see the photos.

Front of the HM

In Istanbul, I am not going in the morning 8 AM to grab some designer clothes to HM because you know it is so crowded, I can't be tolerant to that much people all around trying to buy everything selfishly. However, I wondered what will be the atmosphere in San Diego and also I wanted to buy one item. So, I was in front of the HM at 8.15 AM and I was the last one who was wearing yellow bracelet which means I am allowed to do shopping between 9.00 - 9.15 AM. So, I waited and here are my observations: People with lots of bags, crowd but not so much, people who are running and trying to get everything they can. So, I think that it is the same view but with lesser people.


By the way, did you like my skirt ?




Normalde İstanbul'da sabahın 8'inde tasarım kıyafeti almak için HM'e gitmiyorum, çünkü inanılmaz bir kalabalık oluyor ve bütün insanlar bencilce bütün kıyafetleri almaya çalışıyorlar. Ama açıkçası San Diego'da  nasıl bir atmosfer olacağını çok merak ettim ve bir tşört ve kolye edinmek istedim. Saat 8.15 gibi oradaydım ve sarı bileklik giyiyordum bu demek oluyor ki son sıradayım ve 9 - 9.15 arası alışveriş yapabileceğim. Yani bayağı uzun süre bekledim ve işte gözlemlerim: Torbalar dolusu alışveriş yapan insanlar, kalabalık ama çok fazla değil ve etrafta koşturan ve alabildikleri her şeyi almaya çalışan bir insan topluluğu. Yani İstanbul'la aynı görüntü ama çok daha az insan.

Random Sunday

I am addressing to people who assume that I don't study here, this is one of the sundays that I studied and at the same time it is the hottest day since we have come here. I couldn't resist it and grabbed my camera, I took photos of the university and its round and of course I should show my wonderful nail polish, did you like it?

Burada hiç ders çalışmadığımı sananlara sesleniyorum, bu ders çalıştığım pazarlardan biri ve aynı zamanda buraya geldiğimizden beri en sıcak gün. Akşamüstü aldım elime fotoğraf makinemi kendimi dışarı attım, okulu ve çevresinden görüntüler çektim, tabii süper oje rengimi de size göstermeliydim, beğendiniz mi?

Welcome to San Diego Downtown

I have noticed that I don't know much about San Diego where I am living after my vacation to San Francisco, I have been to downtown but never discovered it enough. So, we decided to go to downtown for saturday with my girls. After we walked around in Broadway Avenue where is the most popular one, we found ourselves in San Diego Bay. It is called Seaport Village and frontifit there is elite Coranado Island, we will go there when the weather is warmer, because we are planning to swim in the ocean.


I have chosen a transparent long sleeve shirt, i am keeping it for a long time but I didn't show you before.

San Francisco keşfilerimden sonra yaşadığım şehri yeteri kadar gezmediğimi fark ettim, daha şehir merkezine doğru düzgün inip gezmemiştim. Kızlarla beraber cumartesi günümüzü şehir merkezinde harcamaya karar verdik. Buranın en ünlü caddesi Broadway'de biraz dolaştıktan sonra kendimizi San Diego körfezinde bulduk. Oraya Seaport village deniyor, karşısında da buranın ünlü elit adası Coronado Island var, oraya da havalar biraz daha güzelleşince gideceğiz, çünkü orada okyanusa girme gibi bir arzumuz var. 


Üstüme giymek için şeffaf bir üst seçtim, ben de uzun zamandır olan bir parça aslında ama daha önce size göstermemiştim. 


Beni okuyan herkese güzel bir hafta diliyorum, blogum için güzel projeler düşünüyorum, beni takip etmeye devam edin...

We Had Fun After Surfing

I know that you all want to hear about my surfing adventure, next week I will share my photos while surfing. I should firstly say that it is an incredible feeling even it is scary to struggle with ocean waves, Of course, for the first class I couldnt stay on the board but it is obvious that I will be better.


After the class finished, we went tom discover around the Pacific beach. You will witness about where people are residing (we went to neighborhood which you see in the second picture). All of them have ocean view and in the calm atmosphere... While we were sitting on bench watching the ocean and surfers, we had a chance to talk few people. When we said that 'We are planning to live here, in the future', the first reaction was 'Good Luck' of the woman. I wonder where I will be after 10 years while reading my blog :)




Biliyorum, hepiniz heyecanla sörf maceralarımı merak ediyorsunuz, haftaya sörf görüntülerimi sizlerle paylaşacağım. İnanılmaz bir his, dalgaların içinde boğuşmak biraz korkutucu olsa da o his mükemmel, tabii daha sörf tahtasının üzerinde durabildiğimi söyleyemeyecğim ama daha ilk ders olduğunu varsayarsak iyi sayılabilirim. 


Ders sona erdikten sonra etrafı keşfe çıktık, şimdi fotoğraflarda insanların nerelerde yaşadığına şahit olacaksınız ( 2. fotoğrafta gördüğünüz evlerin olduğu mahalleye gittik). Hepsi okyanus manzaralı ve sükunet içinde... Banklarda oturmuş okyanusu ve sörfçüleri izlerken bir kaç insanla konuşma şansı bulduk. Bir hanıma şaka mayetinde 'İleride burada yaşamayı düşünüyoruz' deyince kadının ilk tepkisi 'Good Luck' oldu. 10 sene sonra bloguma baktığımda bakalım nerede olacağım :)
